Storytelling

UPDATE!
I’ve added several new videos to the Media/Client Work Page. Check it out . .

Now back to regular programming.
Good storytelling is the foundation of great communication. It has to evoke a feeling. It can be outrage, sympathy, humor, compassion or fear . . . but it has to connect with an emotion or else it’s just like reading the phone book. There’s an example that dates me doesn’t it?

I tell stories. Mostly I tell someone else’s story because that’s what makes it possible later to tell the stories “I” want to tell. Sneaky, huh?

My standard answer to “why did you get into communication?” has always been to tell stories with pictures and sound. That was pretty much the extent of it when I started in the 70’s, the internet and digital mediums were years away.

So, what can I do for you?

Do you have a story that needs to be told? If the answer is yes (and that story could mean anything from a corporate HR video, a fund raising project, a daily talk show to . . . well, surprise me) then I can help.

I have 30+ years of video production expertise from single camera field production to live multi-camera studio shoots. I’ve delivered stories via satellite uplinks, DVD, VHS, website and just about any way imaginable.

One of my particular gifts is being able to translate engineering into production or client into vendor or some combination of them all. In other words I speak fluently in abstract AND in concrete terms. I’ve found that most of the snafu’s in the world of communication can be traced back to a left-brained person speaking a language that a right brained person doesn’t understand or the other way around. I’m fluent in both languages and that’s a rare and unique ability.

You’ve got a story to tell and you need a storyteller, I can help . . . contact me
